We skyped with a class from Wisconsin today.  It is fun to learn about the many differences between our classes.  It is also a great way to discuss The BFG.

We have been using our Classroom Twitter board.  On the board the students “post” with a sticky note when someone was nice to them.

We had a great skype with a class from Toronto. We asked each other true and false questions about The BFG. We also talked about our communities. It is fun to learn about other places by learning from other students.

We had a mystery skype with a class from Wisconsin today.  It is exciting to make connections with classes around the world.  We are going to skype gain next week and discuss The BFG.  #GRABFG #mysteryskype

Our class is very excited to be participating in the Global Read Aloud again this year. We will be reading the book The BFG by Roald Dahl.  Please make a prediction about what is going to happen in the book.  If you have read the book you can make a connection. #commentsforkids  #GRA16  #BFG

We had a great first day!  We searched the school to find our pokeballs because we “Gotta Catch Em All”.  We also went over school and class rules.  The students labelled all of their supplies and got to color a couple pokemon pictures in their spare time.  We also went  over some “would you rather” statements that were very interesting.
